Elliott Packaging

A Cheshire based packaging firm is wrapping up the year with its best profits yet after boosting online sales.

Brothers, Nick and Alistair Elliott hired search engine consultants to help steer them through the financial storm.  Now less than a year and a half after the UK recession officially began, their business has seen sales soar and turnover double.

The family duo used ‘search engine optimisation’ (SEO) to increase the visibility of Elliott Packaging on the World Wide Web and strengthen their international sales.

Whilst competitors have closed plants and laid off staff to survive, Nick, whose company is based in Northwich, believes SEO has helped them boom in the economic gloom.

Nick says: “We came across the Manchester based search engine consultants, FirstFound, who have done a good job of getting us high up the pecking order on the free listings. This means we are now on the first page of results of every major worldwide search engine.  That, combined with appearing in the sponsored listings, has made our online marketing campaign an extremely successful one.”

The brothers, who set up their company in 1996, have a wide ranging client base including sportswear companies, food manufacturers, publishers and hospitals.

I'd recommend this is something for anyone in business whatever your business is.

Adds Nick: “How we go about selling these days has changed.  Instead of needing a mass of salesmen knocking on doors, we have found if you get yourself recognised on the search engines, the customers find you.

I would recommend this is something for anyone in business whatever your business is.”

SEO is a method of selecting key search words and phrases to propel a business to the top of the internet results pages. Studies have shown that net users rarely search beyond the first page when looking to purchase a service or goods. It is also used to direct the correct customers to your website in a well thought out and bespoke campaign.
